Shawbost Norse Mill & Kiln is a reconstructed example of a traditional corn mill, based on an Iron Age design that once existed on this site. It remains the only working example of this type of mill in the Western Isles, offering insight into early methods of grain processing. Set within a natural landscape, it reflects both historical function and the resourcefulness of past communities.
A small stream runs through the foreground, guiding the eye toward the stone-built mill and its distinctive turf roof. The surrounding grassland and open water beyond create a sense of space, while the simple structures sit naturally within the landscape. The composition balances foreground detail with the historic buildings, emphasising both setting and context.

Optional lamination is available in satin or gloss to match your selected paper, providing extra protection against moisture and handling. However, lamination is not recommended for Fine Art Matt paper, as it will obscure its authentic texture.
